I wouldn't want to ask people to just give me money cause they like my website, but do please take a quick look at Barger's Boutique. You might find yourself a little something-something for 2 or 3 bucks that you just can't resist! Any of the round images you find around MoreThings will get you to an Amazon page to buy my stuff and help ol' Al keep the lights on.
Links
To explicitly state the obvious, these external links go to interesting and provocative websites, but they speak for themselves. I don't necessarily agree with anything they say - especially that no-goodnik Richard Marcus.

The Shield - Season Four Preview So then, we've got three whole seasons of The Shield now. With the short seasons of cable, that's a total of 41 episodes. It may be a bit early to say that this is the best cop show in tv history, but that's 41 episodes of consistently extraordinary quality. I'm ready to make that call now.
Season one set up the characters. There are as many as eight characters considered principles. Those would be Vic Mackey, Shane Vendrell, and Curtis Lemansky aka Lem from the special unit Strike Team, their boss Captain David Aceveda, Detectives Claudette Wymms and Dutch Wagenbach, and representing the uniformed officers Danny Sofer and Julien Lowe. On top of which, there are probably about that many major supporting characters.
Season two did more to flesh out those characters. Julien being gay, for example, basically worked to set up his marriage and attempt at going straight in seasons two.
Season three gets more complicated, as characters start developing, changing. Coming up with these changes, and properly motivating them -- THAT shows some serious SKILL in the writing. Claudette in particular started acting significantly different than previously after having just a little whiff of power. Shane and Lem are cracking under the pressure. Then there is Captain Aceveda and The Incident.
How will they develop further in season four? Will the characters revert back to form, or do we have really new situations? How's this going to work out with Glen Close as the new captain? Vic might not want to push her too far, cause she's liable to boil his rabbit.
Then there's Anthony Anderson as community activist/super villain Antwon Mitchell. Reckon how's THAT going to play out? The Shield Photo Gallery
