I wouldn't want to ask people to just give me money cause they like my website, but do please take a quick look at Barger's Boutique. You might find yourself a little something-something for 2 or 3 bucks that you just can't resist! Any of the round images you find around MoreThings will get you to an Amazon page to buy my stuff and help ol' Al keep the lights on.
Links
To explicitly state the obvious, these external links go to interesting and provocative websites, but they speak for themselves. I don't necessarily agree with anything they say - especially that no-goodnik Richard Marcus.

New Album Releases, 10-10-2006: Jimmy Buffett, Rod Stewart It's looking like thin gruel in this week's new album releases. The most interesting thing would probably be Jimmy Buffett Take the Weather With You. After flirting with country music briefly, he's apparently back in more typical form, as evidenced by song titles like "Reggabilly Hill" and "Hula Girl at Heart." I'm not much of a parrothead, but I'll give him extra credit for choosing the excellent and less than obvious Crowded House song that he uses as the title track.
Meantime, there's Rod Stewart's Still the Same: Great Rock Classics of Our Time. Rod Stewart did make a decent musical contribution by providing the rock and roll Judas figure to inspire the 70s punk rock movement, so I'll give him some credit for that awful "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" stuff. But shut up already, damn. His idea of "rock classics of our time" consists mostly of obvious and old mediocrities like "Fooled Around and Fell in Love" and "The Best of My Love." The geezer's begging for a trip to Camp Mimi.
Past that, the new stuff looks so lame that I can't even get cheap jokes out of it. So then, without further delay, here are this week's major new album releases, courtesy AMG:
