To explicitly state the obvious, these external links go to interesting and provocative websites, but they speak for themselves. I don't necessarily agree with anything they say - especially that no-goodnik Richard Marcus.

New CD Album Releases, 2-12-2008: All grrl Neil Young tribute, Carrie Newcomer, Widespread Panic New album releases this week look a little thin. One thing that looks somewhat interesting is Cinnamon Girl: Women Artists Cover Neil Young for Charity on the American Laundromat label. I'm not familiar with most of the women here, but I'd be interested in hearing what Jill Sobule did with "Down by the River." The other top likely point of interest would be Josie Cotton doing "Cowgirl in the Sand."
Top point of re-issue interest is the three CD Not Fade Away: Buddy Holly 1957 Complete Recordings. This has 90 tracks, including alternate takes, a number of recordings where they were backing other artists, plus promotional spots and a couple of interviews. Besides famous Buddy Holly classics like "Peggy Sue" and "That'll Be the Day," there are a lot of album tracks and such that are new even to me.
Also on the re-issue front, we get a tasty looking 25th anniversary edition of Thriller. This includes a song "For All Time," an unreleased ballad from the original sessions as the top point of extra value, along with some remixes from will.i.am among others. Also, this includes a bonus DVD with all three of the original famous videos and his famous May 1983 performance of "Billie Jean" from the NBC Motown special.
There are a couple of Tuxedomoon releases this week, including a four CD 7707 tm: 30th Anniversary Box. This doesn't seem to include their early Ralph Records material though, which is what I know them for. The Half Mute album is, however, available as a twofer, containing the main song I remember them for, "Seeding the Clouds."
