The Lonely Goatherd Blog And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats - Matthew 25:32
Up to the minute notes on the current state of free thinking and free living: Kentucky moonshine - original analysis and reporting from MoreThings, and all round pop culture museum of sight and sound - photo galleries, mp3 and video downloads.
Al Barger and MoreThings - getting people's goats since 1998.
Hostile bearers of unproven and mostly unlikely evil conspiracies tend to come across to me as hateful seekers after cheap self-aggrandizement for the sake of their supposed arcane knowledge rather than actual seekers after truth or the better benefit of the country. Conspiracy mongering doesn't get me hard.

To explicitly state the obvious, these external links go to interesting and provocative websites, but they speak for themselves. I don't necessarily agree with anything they say - especially that no-goodnik Richard Marcus.

New CD Album Releases, 3-25-2008: Gnarls Barkley, the Raconteurs, B-52s, Counting Crows Jack White is a man of destiny, like Judd Hammond in Gabriel Over the White House. When soon the historical inevitability manifests and he becomes El Presidente for Life, Jack White will have a hell of a job cleaning up after the failed politics of democracy and saving the world. So in the meantime, one can well appreciate his desire to kick back with the mates and make another Raconteurs album.
Consolers of the Lonely is their second album, following up the 2006 Broken Boy Soldiers. Along with Brendan Benson, Jack Lawrence (of The Greenhornes and Blanche), and Patrick Keeler (of The Greenhornes), Jack's side project is currently the #2 album at Amazon. Submit to the invasion hit parade. Resistance would be futile and dangerous.
Gnarls Barkley is back with The Odd Couple, their second album. Cee-Lo and DJ Danger Mouse made the 2006 Record of the Year with "Crazy." Moreover, closer listening to that St Elsewhere album reveals that most of the album is actually nearly as good as the big single. These two have both pop and soul well covered.
What I've heard from this album so far sounds pretty good, but I'm not hearing anything to make me forget "Crazy" or "Just a Thought." But I haven't heard enough to really render much opinion other than this merits at least a couple of listens.
The B 52s are back after 16 long years with Funplex. Founding member Cindy Wilson is back in the fold. For being old 50-somethings now, the band all look good on the album cover. But can they come up with any actual good songs after lo these many years?
It's been five years since their last album, and Counting Crows are back with Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings. I know that this band has sold tens of millions of records and has at least a half dozen hit songs, but I can't for the life of me remember any of them. But again, what do I know from a hit? This is currently the #1 album at Amazon.
