HOW TO STOP SUICIDE BOMBERS

The Palestinian suicide bomber strategy HAS to stop.  No country could be expected to accept this continual genocide.

The Palestinians are getting away with this so far largely because they know the Jews are much better human beings than they are.  Everybody knows that the Israelis could easily CRUSH the Palestinians in a heartbeat.  However, having survived so much genocide themselves, the Jews are extraordinarily sensitive to the suffering of others. The Palestinians know this, and count on Israeli restraint.  The Israelis really positively do NOT want to rain death on the Palestinians- despite consistent public opinion data suggesting 70% and higher support from the Palestinian people for the ongoing suicide bombings against the Israelis.

Now as far as most people -including me- would be concerned, that's 70% plus of that population that more than deserves anything that happens to them.  The Israelis, however, are perhaps the most moral and self-critical society on earth, and they are loathe to lay down the good old school, righteous Old Testament plagues they are capable of - up to and including nuclear weapons.  Hey, I would use nuclear weapons before I'd let them keep massacring my people.  Survival for yourself and your family pretty well trumps almost any other possible moral consideration.

That said, the Israelis will have to do SOMETHING, because the modest military excursions they've undertaken so far haven't worked.  It's hard to stop someone who is intent on suicide.  What are you going to do, kill them?

Here, then, is my humble proposal to stop suicide bombers:  the Israelis should institute a policy of retribution against the families of suicide bombers.  We know who they are.  They make videos, and big posters celebrating their "martyrs."   Make it something as simple and specific as possible.  For example, anyone blows up Israelis, IDF will hunt down and kill their next 10 of kin, starting with the bombers' mother and father, brothers and sisters, wives, husbands, children, then cousins, nephews etc.  Perhaps setting the penalty at one member of the bomber's family for every Israeli killed would be more easily defensible as "an eye for an eye."

This may sound harsh, and indeed it is, but this would be the absolute least brutality that would be likely to actually stop the bombings, which is the main goal.  Making nice has only ever encouraged the modern Palestinians to wickedness.

This would also be the fairest form of retribution.  Who would be the next closest people who had or should have had direct influence on the bombers to turn them away from this wickedness?

The promise of retribution against the families of suicide bombers would seriously apply maximum motivation to every family to police their own.  Those payoffs from Saddam Hussein and the Saudis will suddenly CEASE to entice families to volunteer their children for these evil missions.

Even if they don't care about their own lives, how many of these would-be bombers are willing to directly sentence their own entire immediate families to death?  If that doesn't stop them, then their seed really does need to be wiped from the face of the earth.

Unfortunately, sometimes a whole nation or tribe of people collectively goes off into some evil madness and simply has to be stopped by any means necessary.  To give perspective to my claim that this policy is the "least harsh" viable plan, put it in perspective to the punishment the Allied good guys in WWII found it necessary to inflict on the German and Japanese people to stop their wickedness.  This new plan would be far better by virtue of being much more precise, going from punishing the whole society to focusing on the relatively few specific families providing the bombers.

In practice, most likely it would involve the Israelis having to do only minimal actual killing.  The Palestinians would probably make them prove that they are willing to actually carry out the threat.  A few times, though, would likely be enough to make the point, and further massacres would cease- for both sides.

This policy would, of course, bring down massive international condemnation.  However, anything at all that the Israelis do would draw condemnation.  For whatever no doubt largely wicked reasons, most of the world seems to hate the Jews anyway.

Better to be hated and alive, though, than approved of and dead.

Further, consider the benefit to the Palestinian and Arab communities that will be achieved by this.  How could IDF executing handfuls of their citizens be of benefit to them?  Answer:  Retail killing now may well prevent the necessity of wholesale killing later.  Letting the Palestinians off lightly has only emboldened them.

If they keep flitting around, getting swatted here and there, but not exterminated, odds are that eventually Hamas or the al Aqsa brigades or some such will get hold of some nasty chemical or biological weapons.  All their history dictates that they would use them.  Suddenly, there are, say, thirty thousand dead Israelis in Tel Aviv.

At that point, what possible choices does Israel face?  They'd pretty much HAVE to destroy whatever society these people were from, most likely Palestinian.  The only other choice would be massive and passive Israeli suicide, just sitting there while Arabs drop poison gas or plague on them.  That's not going to happen.

In this type of situation, absolute simple survival will snatch away from the Israelis the moral luxury of sparing the innocent.  They will at some point have to say, "Yes, I will kill your whole family if necessary to stop you from killing mine."  Better even for the Palestinians that this be done now, while it is on some manageable scale.

Better to hit the evil ones as hard as is necessary to break them now- whatever condemnation that brings, than to let it escalate into apocalypse.

Rather than having images of assassinating specific people and children, perhaps our collective consciences would feel less bad about just taking out whole towns from the air.  That works, too.  Jenin could just come up missing about the next, umpteenth suicide bomber from there kills innocent Israelis.

I beseech you, our Arab brothers, to give Israel and US another alternative to end this wickedness.  I want to make nice, but these killings have to stop.  Please.  Cause making nice just hasn't worked.
