The bestest looking thing in the pile is a collection of old Levon Helms recordings, Take Me to the River 1978-1982. Among other groovy things, this has his recording of the Al Green classic title song and “Money.”
Brian McKnight has a new album Just Me. It has a CD of new songs, and a bonus live album. That part sounds more interesting to me from what I’ve heard, including some gospel piano playing and talk about his early musical learning. Plus, he sounds pretty good singing Van Morrison’s “Crazy Love.”
