COMMENTS: This song conveys a sense of fierce exuberance.  It describes the feelings of a man about to get out of jail after nearly three years. "I FEEEEL so good, I feee-e-el so good I'm gonna break somebody's heart tonight."  He makes it so real that you'll forget all that "Tie a Yellow Ribbon" nonsense.  Oh, yeah, you'll likely want to use that ribbon to strangle with gleeful enthusiasm the first dumb sumbitch that gives you any crap.

It's hard to say what makes this come off so urgent.  The song is only a medium tempo, and he's not shouting.  Some of it is the swelling organ, some of it the little lightning runs from the guitar.  Probably, too, some of it comes from the raw, jagged little jumps in the vocal melody, like how some of the "feee-e-el"s spike unexpectedly upwards, as if in joyful abandon.
