Freedom to do good greater than political freedom

"For it is written:  As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God" - (Romans 14:11).

Christ has set all of us free.  "Brethren, ye have been called to liberty" - (Galations 5:13).  God gives us the promise of freedom.

But beware:  If we are to claim our gift, we must avoid being enticed by a false "freedom" propogated by Satan and his advocates.  The "freedom" being offered by Satan in place of God's gift is political freedom.

Satan wants us to think that political freedom is what we are being offered.  Political freedom is Satan's tool.  Satan says we should be free to drink, smoke or sleep with anything or anyone we please.  These so-called "freedoms" are foreign to God's word.

God wants us to unconditionally submit ourselves to government so we might be guided unto righteousness.  "Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake:  whether it be to the king as supreme, or unto governors...For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:  As free, and not using your liberty for a cloak of maliciousness, but as the servants of God...Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the forward" - (I Peter 2:13-18).

I wonder if that last section in the Bible is the one that Desmond Tutu and the Mandelas use.  It is clear that God does not want us to be free to do wrong.  In fact, God put governments here for the express purpose of keeping us in line.

"For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil.  Wilt thou then be not afraid of the power?  Do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same, for he is the minister of God to thee for good" - (Romans 13:3,4).  To submit to Christ, we must unconditionally surrender political freedom.

True freedom, that which Christ promised us, is the freedom to serve one another.  "Ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love, serve one another" - (Galations 5:13).

Note some of the things that this freedom is not:  It is not the freedom to print filthy magazines.  It is not the freedom to get abortions on demand.  It is not the freedom to buy un-American, anti-Christian rock and roll albums.  It is not the freedom to teach Darwinism in the classroom.

The freedom that God offers us, instead, is the freedom to do good works.  It is the freedom to use our printing presses to make Bibles and other inspirational literature.  It is freedom from the guilt of having murdered an unborn child.  It is the freedom to censor filthy, hedonistic rock 'n' roll records, thereby removing a major source of misguidance from our young.

"And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out and cast it from thee:  for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell" - (Matthew 5:29).  And our freedom in Christ is also the freedom to teach the ancient truth of creationism in our classrooms.

If you support the freedom that Christ offers, then you must reject the freedom of this world.  If you support Christ's freedom, though, the freedom of this world means nothing anyway.

There is one man in particular on the national political scene who stands foursquare for this true freedom:  Pat Robertson.  If you support true freedom, you should lend your political support to Brother Robertson and others like him.  It is what God wants.

But if you don't support God's freedom, you'd better watch out.  "If thou doest that which is evil, be afraid; for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil" - (Romans 13:4).

One day, every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess.  God said so.  And God-fearing patriots like Edwin Meese and Brother Robertson will see to it.
