----
I wouldn't want to ask people to just give me money cause they like my website, but do please take a quick look at Barger's Boutique. You might find yourself a little something-something for 2 or 3 bucks that you just can't resist! Any of the round images you find around MoreThings will get you to an Amazon page to buy my stuff and help ol' Al keep the lights on.
Links
To explicitly state the obvious, these external links go to interesting and provocative websites, but they speak for themselves. I don't necessarily agree with anything they say - especially that no-goodnik Richard Marcus.

New Album Releases, 7-11-2006 Ramblin' Jack Elliott has his first new album in seven years, I Stand Alone. This guy was really THE top early influence on Bob Dylan, for starters. It was him teaching Dylan the Guthrie songs, and it was Elliott that Dylan was specifically imitating on his first couple of albums. Indeed, at his first NYC show, Dylan was billed as "Son of Jack Elliott." Early word sounds good on this. A few days shy of 75 years, he's singing the "Arthritis Blues," so I doubt he's doing a lot of ramblin' these days. Jack Elliott is apparently still a fingerpickin' fool, though.
Thom Yorke has a solo album, The Eraser. Apparently Radiohead is not quite boring and mediocre enough to satisfy his needs. I suppose we can just be thankful that he's not Chris Martin.
I like to think I'm a knowledgeable They Might Be Giants fan, but I must confess to not recognizing at least half the titles on this tribute album Hello Radio: The Songs of They Might Be Giants. I guess that's all the more reason to want to hear it.
There's a new two CD version of Aretha Franklin's 1971 album Live at Fillmore West. Recorded in her artistic prime, this features a spontaneous duet of "Spirit in the Dark" with Ray Charles, who happened to be in the audience that March night.
