Right wing French rapper assaulted Here's a little story from the AP about a singer getting physically assaulted for expressing support for the right wing French President Sarkozy.
A French rap star who supports right-wing French President Nicolas Sarkozy was pelted with projectiles and booed off stage at a concert in Geneva, local press reports said Saturday.
Dozens of spectators at the opening free concert of a two-week summer festival staged a mini-riot at the appearance of singer Doc Gyneco, forcing the organisers to cancel the show after half-an-hour, the reports said.
Two men were arrested, the daily La Tribune de Geneve reported.
I'm conflicted. This sounds like a good example of just what I've seen in recent years of left wing intolerance of anything conservative. Rarely in my lifetime have I seen right wing thugs busting up any kind of even the dumbest pinko meetings. Red staters were pissy with the Dixie Chicks, but I don't recall seeing them physically run off a stage. Our right wing redneck hilbillies don't go bustin' up a Barbara Streisand show. Wouldn't even think to.
But let David Horowitz or Ann Coulter try giving a speech on a college campus, and see if somebody doesn't absolutely try to physically attack or disrupt whatever kind of presentation they have planned.
So here's my conflict: I feel suspicious when stuff just jumps up readily supporting my expectations this clearly and dramatically. Am I just not seeing all the equivalent right wing Kossack behavior? Am I missing it?
And this is apparently an audience of Swedes. Weren't they all supposed to be neutral or something?
