To explicitly state the obvious, these external links go to interesting and provocative websites, but they speak for themselves. I don't necessarily agree with anything they say - especially that no-goodnik Richard Marcus.

New Album Releases, 12-25-2007: White Stripes, Radiohead, Nick Lowe BEST SONGS OF 2007 I don't think there are really any actual new releases this Tuesday, for starters on grounds that no one's going to be open absolutely on Christmas day. The nearest thing to a new listing is the Radiohead album In Rainbows. It was premiered some weeks ago, allowing fans to download the album from their official website for whatever they wanted to pay. An actual physical CD release is listed here for today, though Amazon lists a release date for next Tuesday - New Year's Day. In any case, it is the #13 current seller at Amazon.
For some reason, the White Stripes June album release is re-listed here. As a leading advocate of White Stripes Nation though, that's plenty good enough reason for me to feature this album again. Besides being a harbinger of the upcoming violent overthrow of the tottering US governmental regime ("Conquest" and "Icky Thump"), Icky Thump is hands down the best album of the year. It's as good a songwriting as our Dear Leader Jack White has ever done, the best production and arrangements, and a quantum leap in fancy guitar playing. In that regard, the hellfire raining from his guitar in the "Catch Hell Blues" makes a particularly potent warning to those who oppose the historical inevitability of Jack White's ascension. I'm just saying, this record is really good.
