The Lonely Goatherd Blog And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats - Matthew 25:32

Hostile bearers of unproven and mostly unlikely evil conspiracies tend to come across to me as hateful seekers after cheap self-aggrandizement for the sake of their supposed arcane knowledge rather than actual seekers after truth or the better benefit of the country. Conspiracy mongering doesn't get me hard.

To explicitly state the obvious, these external links go to interesting and provocative websites, but they speak for themselves. I don't necessarily agree with anything they say - especially that no-goodnik Richard Marcus.

New Album Releases, 1-22-2008: Cat Power, Robin Trower and Jack Bruce The big new album this cold January Tuesday comes from Charlyn Marie Marshall. Under Chan's stage name, Cat Power has Jukebox. This is her second album of covers, but she might reasonably be considered a legitimate interpreter of songs. She's doing something with them. Also, for being covers, they're mostly songs that I am not familiar with, so they might be new songs to you as well.
Among the songs I did know, I was pleased with the spare slinky blues sound as applied to Bob Dylan's classic Christian testimonial "I Believe in You." She seems to have an ethereal blues mama mojo going here that's just the thing for Joni Mitchell's "Blue." She's all misty and such, but she bakes this a pleasing bit more earthy than the classic Joni. But perhaps the most interesting bit I heard comes from a bonus song on the second disc of the deluxe package, "She's Got You." Singer covering Patsy Cline is a bold move right there.
I didn't realize Cat Power was such a big thing, but I note that she's got the #6 album currently at Amazon.
Jack Bruce and Robin Trower have Seven Moons. This is the third collaborative album for these veterans of Cream and Procul Harum.
